What is Pilates and what are the benefits of Pilates?
Pilates is an exercise system which focuses on the core. It strengthens the abdominal muscles while protecting the back, aiding in spinal health and injury protection. Pilates improves alignment, balances muscles and improves posture. The exercises lengthen muscles as they are strengthened resulting in long, lean, strong, flexible muscles.
Pilates has great health benefits including:
- Improves your posture and symmetry
- Increases strength and flexibility
- Creates mind/body awareness
- Tones your core and improves flexibility
Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit.
