Core Bodies is an upscale Classical Pilates Studio also offering the GYROTONIC® method. Core is owned and operated by Deborah Murphy, Certified Personal Trainer. Deborh received her Classical Pilates from Siobhan Roberts who is PMA Certified. Her GYROTONIC® master trainers have been Sebastian Plettenburg, Billy Macagnone and Emily Smith in Level 1, GYROKINESIS® and GYROTONIC®.
Deb is always working to increase her knowledge of how Pilates and
GYROTONIC® relates to specific body anatomy. She enjoys
helping people from all walks of life, in all age groups and at all levels of
physical ability, become more aligned and balanced.

Like a massage from the inside out, or swimming without water, the method stimulates the spine with continuous spiraling motion layered with breathing and rhythm.

The programs at Core Bodies are designed to enhance and improve each individual’s quality of life by increasing body awareness, strength, flexibility and range of motion. Our offerings range from specialized instruction, which are focused on individual goals to group classes. We also design classes for groups of friends or co workers, who want to work together.
Core Bodies studio has a full compliment of Pilates equipment, including reformers, cadillac, wunda chair, high chair, ladder barrels, and towers. Also on site are 2 bathrooms with full showers, two treatment rooms and a dressing room, located on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Located in the scenic Hudson Valley, Core Bodies is just a short walk from the Vassar College Campus. We are at 50 Raymond Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY (on the 2nd floor). The studio has a beautifully designed space. There is ample non-metered street parking on Raymond Avenue and the surrounding streets.
How can I get started?
Core Bodies offers a beginners mat class. We may recommend you begin your Pilates journey with at least one private session. This allows you and the instructor to get to know your body, the way it moves, and what your particular goals are or should be. However, if you’ve taken Pilates before or are currently practicing Pilates, it is quite fine to jump right into our open mat classes. You will be guided step by step, and modifications will be presented as needed.
NOTE: our instructors are available for private house calls and special event classes, call our studio for availability and fees.
